I’m just saying that nothing prepared me for what happens at pretty much exactly the halfway point. I honestly don’t think it’s possible to be prepared for it. I read a lot. I’m a pretty avid reader. I read all sorts of different genres. In all my reading, I’ve never encountered anything like that. I wish I could go into more detail, but the only thing worse than actually reading it, I think, would be having it spoiled.
